We stayed in Santa Maria hotel in Octotber for one week. The weather was still warm and sunny, and the sea was warm also! Hotel is very cozy and clean! Location is perfect, it is on the beach! beach is clean, sandy, there are very nice restaurants around. Also near the hotel there is a grocery store. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day, and it was very good. Tha staff was very friendly, helpful especially thanks for Viola! She is the sunshine of the hotel! She made us feel very special guests there! We had a room on the second floor with the sea view. It worth every penny to pay extra! The mountain, sea, swimming pool, everything was so special for our eyes! Also we had very cozy balcony and it was very nice to spend the rest of the evening there. Thank you for all staff in Santa Maria! We would come back for sure!!!

Yo estaba allí con mis amigos, todos nos hicimos cortos Joga y aeróbic acuático allí - en la segunda semana de junio. El clima aún era de unos 28 grados y soleado, la temperatura del mar a unos 22. El mar está muy cerca del hotel, puedes ir con un vestido de natación, y Poll está justo allí también y una votación con agua termal. Me gustó mucho el hotel pequeño, porque está muy bonito con el uso de elementos de la arquitectura italiana. El hotel es un lugar privilegiado sobre inicio creada por el interior moderno y por el personal. El joven de la recepción y la camarera era maravilloso - principalmente Viola, quien hizo el ambiente sigue siendo bueno y divertido, y ella nos ayudó a todas las personas que necesitábamos. Me gustaría volver a este hotel una vez más.

I spent very pleasant relaxing two weeks in this hotel. The location is great. You can relax at the swimming pool and go to swim to the sea which is nearby. Forio is in walking distance and you can visit the beautiful garden La Mortella which is situated not far above the hotel. The staff is very friendly. There was a great choise for breakfast and pasta for dinner was always very delicious.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Maria for 3 days and chose an option that included two what were described as meals ,breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner .I read other reviews of this hotel and initially was put off by the negative reviews but having read the last more recent one indicating 'new management' that was positive decided to take a chance. We had a fantastic view of the beach from our balcony but were disappointed to note that we would have to pay additional fees to have an umbrella etc on the beach .When we did try to hire some there was none available so we could look at the sea from our balcony but not touch the beach. The hotel is like travelling back in time and this hotel would have been beautiful about thirty years ago but it has not been updated since ,still having ancient wardrobes ,doors ,tables and chairs.The overall feel of the place is that it is uncared for. Our room was basic but the walls were stained and the light fitting was hanging by a thread .One lamp did not work and the tv was showing occasional snowy channels . On the first day we had to go out and buy shampoo and shower gel because there was none but shampoo did appear on day two. The air conditioning did work and was an asset and the bed was reasonably comfortable although I am not entirely convinced of the hygiene of the bedding . My biggest issue with this hotel was the paltry amounts of food and child sized portions.What was served tasted nice but a very limited amount .We also had to pay for water with our meals which due to the heat was unavoidable and there was no option of 'tap' water available .In the mornings IN ITALY there was no real coffee available for breakfast and we had to go and buy it at the hotel bar instead which I was disgusted with .No expresso for an ITALIAN breakfast !!!! I was also convinced that the bread we were served at breakfast was from the night before .It was dry and hard .Also at one point the water we bought for our meal was not cold due to a late delivery ,this in 35+ degrees weather . The staff seemed disinterested but were on the whole professional .One gets the impression that they are not happy in their jobs .The only genuine smile we recieved was from our chambermaid who did her best to keep our room cleaned.The pool area is also nice and well maintained . In terms of three stars this hotel is tetering but overpriced for what it offers .It has a lot to offer and a few minor 'comfort' changes such as not charging for water,providing proper coffee for breakfast ,not recycling bread from previous meals and adult sized food portions would greatly improve the overall experience of being there.
