Sun Rocks exceeded my expectations. First, the location is even more beautiful than the pictures. Rooms were pristine; the complimentary breakfast amazing. But I would say the staff is the hotel's best asset. Upon my arrival, I was generously upgraded to a fancier suite due to vacancies at the time of my stay (thanks!). When I fell ill on my last night, they allowed me a super late check-out to recover. Even before I arrived, they were incredibly helpful over email arranging my transportation from the airport and dinner reservations. I definitely felt pampered and well cared for.

I booked the Junior Suite at Sun Rocks for 7 days. The room was tastefully decorated and the view from the shared terrace was just breathtaking!! The breakfast each morning was huge and absolutely delicious. There was a good selection to choose from and you could order it to your room, terrace or eat near the pool area. The location is great; Fira is just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the hotel and Immerovigli 10 -15 min the other way. The view and sunset each evening was absolutely spectacular. If you want to get away from the crowd and want to enjoy the sunset in peace, this is by far the best location ever. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel twice and the food was delicious. We asked where we could get dolmadakias and saganaki, and the hotel asked the chef to make it especially for us (saganaki was not on the original menu). October was a great time to be there. The temperature was perfect during the day (not too hot) and the island was not too busy. The evenings would get a bit chilly though. I cannot say enough about the staff (Jerry, Adele, Vilma and Rafaela), the hotel, the view and the exceptional service. I came to Sun Rocks 23 years ago and loved it. It was even better this time. Thank you for a memorable stay. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed for a weekend in Santorini in October at the Sun Rocks. It was my second stay there: the first was in 1995. The hotel is built around a series of levels overlooking the caldera. Depending on the room you choose, you will have a private or shared balcony, and a hot tub. It's worth getting these extras, as the view is simply incredible. The interior is Cycladic-inspired, with Hermes and Molton Brown toiletries in a small bathroom. We had a separate bedroom. Most of the time was spent outside on the balcony, which was the defining experience of the stay. The hot tub is interesting given the heat during the day, but the temperature falls in the evening and early morning. Service was considerate and attentive, which is normal at the price charged. We ate dinner once in the hotel restaurant: the price is relatively high, service is not exceptional, for the standard the hotel aspires to. It must be difficult to maintain standards with the small number of rooms available. We found better dinner options outside. Breakfast was gargantuan and well appreciated. I will definitely stay again. The hotel has expanded (as has the destination) but the ability to have a private veranda on the caldera is priceless.

A pleasure to stay at this hotel where the excellent attentive staff and quality of dining experience were the standouts. The views are spectacular- but that’s true of almost all waterfront properties here. The rooms are cave like as is the case for Santorini, so I would suggest picking a larger room if you are claustrophobic. Terraces and private space outdoors are a must. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, not a stale buffet. Dinner also the best we had in Santorini - be choosy about going elsewhere. Staff were so polite, friendly and humorous. I had the misfortune to dine out at sister hotel Kirini which was the opposite experience, avoid Anthos restaurant at Kirini. Highly recommended.

We had our honeymoon planned for later in the season (October) and the hotel was very accommodating for anyone without travel options (rental car, etc). They were very responsive for any need (taxi, towels, reservations for restaurants, etc) and made sure we were comfortable and prepared. Their recommendations for food and fun were on point and they were certainly courteous and respectful the entire time. The breakfast each morning was the best way we could've started our day with the menu being so delicious and eating by the pool with a caldera view. Couldn't ask for a better breakfast included! You won't regret it.
